Quick Tip: Google Transliterate Keyboard Shortcut

with one comment

WP Greet Box iconHello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.Tweet

If you use Google Transliterate to frequently type in multiple languages, read on. Google Transliterate IME, the desktop version of Google Transliterate, allows you to switch between different languages while typing on your computer.

Every time you want to switch between languages, you have to pause typing and then use your mouse to change the language from the option near the system tray. This could get pretty tiring for the keyboard fanatics among us.

screenshot

Google Transliterate comes with a poorly publicised keyboard shortcut combination. The next time you want to switch between languages, just hit Shift and Alt together.  You don’t even have to pause typing. This saves only a few seconds, but keeps you less frustrated in the long run.

Alcatel's Crazy Idea: A Remote for the Smartphone

BERLIN — Is your smartphone too big for your pocket, and pulling it out of a bag or backpack to make a call is a nuisance? Alcatel has a completely wacky solution — a remote controller (that looks like a small phone) for your smartphone.
We've caught up with Alcatel's lineup of products at the DigitalFocus Global event that accompanies IFA Berlin.
The company's upcoming One Touch Hero is a pretty powerful device: a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixel shooter and 2GB of RAM. With a 6-inch screen, it's also too big for most pockets, and this is where the remote comes into play.
SEE ALSO: The Gadgets of IFA: A Whole Lot of Headphones
It looks like a tiny DECT phone, but it's not really a phone, and it doesn't require a SIM card. However, you can make calls with it — it pairs with the Hero, allowing you to view contacts and actually make calls without touching the "main" phone.
Alcatel remote

The presentation given to us by Alcatel's representative was Inception-worthy — he used a phone-like remote to place a call from the phone in one pocket to a phone in the other pocket. Yes, that's just how Alcatel rolls.
Alcatel went so far to create two variants of the remote — a white, plasticky one, as well as a "high-end," brushed aluminum one, which will only be offered in certain markets.
That's not all, mind you, as Alcatel has an even crazier idea — so crazy, in fact, that the company's not yet sure whether it'll be launching it at all. It's an e-ink cover for the Hero, which pairs with the device and lets you read a book while the Hero is covered. It also displays various notifications (an incoming call notice will show up on it, for example), and it does all that with a very small impact on battery life.
Alcatel e-ink cover

The e-ink cover is in prototype stage, and Alcatel claims it'll be turning it into a real product if the market shows interest.
The One Touch Hero, bundled with the remote, will become available in October, but it won't be coming to U.S. shores — the first market to get it is China, followed by certain countries Europe and Latin America.

HOW TO FREE UP INTERNAL MEMORY FROM ANDROID WITHOUT ROOTING

free up internal space from android
Couple of days back I bought HTC Wildfire S and after installing some apps, my phone start showing warning about low internal memory. This problem was bit serious because without internal memory you won’t install new apps and updates. Rooting is the solution of all these problem but Rooting is not an easy task specially for non-techie user and also it void your warranty. This tutorial helps you to free up your internal storage without rooting.
Methods:
  1. Fix Storage bug.
  2. Move apps to SD card with the help of App2SD.
  3. Force Applications to Allow Moving ( For Advanced user only)

1. FIX STORAGE BUG

Google, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr are some of the apps which synchronize your all contacts with your phone address book but unfortunately the contact list will inflate widely over time and taking up dozens of MB of your internal memory. In my case my contact storage took 50 MB which left nothing for others. Good news is that you can easily fix the bug. First Disable all your synchronization by going to your apps settings.
Move all your contacts to SD card and free up your internal memory
  1. Open the People application and press Menu –> Import/Export
  2. Press Export to SD card.
  3. Another popups showing many accounts like SIM, Phone and other account you’ve connected to you phone.
  4. Select top account and another confirmation dialog appears, Press OK.
  5. Repeat this for each account on your phone.
  6. When exporting done, now its time to clear data.
  7. Go to Settings –> Application –> Manage Applications and find Contact Storage in the All tab.
  8. Once you’re in Application info page, then press Clear data, then press OK.
  9. Once the data is clear, now go back to People application., press Menu –> Import/Export, and select Import from SD Card.
  10. Select files you took backup in previous step.
  11. You’re done.

2. MOVE APPS TO SD CARD WITH THE HELP OF APP2SD

App2SD is a free app that move your apps to SD card. Many applications can be easily moved to SD card so that you can enjoy those apps without any internal storage problem. Good things is that App2SD list all application that can be moved to SD and from this application you can easily move all apps to SD card. This application also support push notification it means whenever you install new application it will show you notification that whether you can move this application or not.
