There have been many attempts to bring Whatsapp on Computer. Working solution was to use an Emulator like Bluestacks which would emulate the Android Smartphone environment to run Whatsapp. I posted about ThatsaPC app which was successful to some extent but closed recently.
In this article, we’ll see how to use Whatsapp on Computer using an Android app which extends the Whatsapp installed on phone to Computer’s web browser. As it runs on Web browser, Operating system doesn’t matter as long you have up to date and modern web browser like Firefox or Chrome.
WhatsRemote is an Android app which makes it possible!
This app pushes messages received on phone to web browser and vice versa.
You have register on WhatsRemote via Google account. They store only your Email address, don’t worry!
Then login to WhatsRemote from phone as well as computer browser. You are connected!
PROs
All conversations from phone will be available to read from computer even the ones which weren’t made from PC. In other words, devices will be in sync except for the media attachments which were sent/received earlier.
Full Support for Emoticons and Desktop/Sound notifications too.
Additionally, you can save or backup Whatsapp conversation on Computer using this app.
CONs
Requires Root Permission.
Free for 3 days as Trial. This is the reason for most of bad reviews about app on Play Store.
Download WhatsRemote
If you still use traditional SMS, it is also possible to send and receive SMS from Computer remotely.
