Some of us still save web pages locally, and this tip might help if you’re a Google Chrome user. Opening up the saved web page from your local computer will load it with its local address in the address bar. You might be wondering what the actual HTTP URL of the web page is, and thankfully Chrome beautifully saves along with the source code.
Just right click on the page and click ‘View Page Source’ or open the HTML file using Notepad or another text editor. In one of the first two lines, you can find the actual URL of the web page prefixed by the text ‘saved from url’, as you can see in the screenshot above.
Of course, you can Google a block of text from the web page to figure out the URL, but it’s always good to know a neat trick! Thanks Varun!
